Hancock

Well if you don’t know the plot already, where the hell have you been! For those of you who have been on Mars, i’ll give you the brief run down. John Hancock ( Will Smith) is an alcoholic, bad tempered and reluctant Super-Hero in Los Angeles. He does, however, manage to save lives, but in his own unique way manages to also cause millions of dollars worth of damage. The public are fed up with Hancock and want him taken away or put in prison. One day Hancock saves the life of a public relations executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) from being hit by a freight train. In return Embrey makes it his mission to change the Super-Hero’s image and get the public onto Hancock’s side.

I loved this movie and thought it was near perfect. This movie gives the world a fresh new take on Super-Hero movies, not mocking, but just totally innovative. The acting was top notch, some people don’t like Will Smith, however I think he has phenomenal acting talent, which he proves in this movie. Jason Bateman (the guy from Juno) along with Charlize Theron (playing Ray Embrey’s wife) give excellent performances. The script was great and I also liked the twist in the movie which I did not see coming at all. Watching this you really felt as if this would be what it would be like if there were really Super-Hero’s in our world. The movie, it has to be said, was also hilarious and comically genius. If you don’t see this movie you better have a damn good reason.

I really didn’t care much for this film. It just didn’t do it for me. Not with so many better Superhero movies doing so well this summer.
